“Whenever someone with celebrity, such as Daniel Handler, makes a racist comment, it should open up a conversation for how we can all do better. When the girl in my class cried to Handler, ‘How could you do that to her?’, that was the beginning of a conversation. But the middle fingers and yelling that I saw in the auditorium felt a lot more like attacking. This is not constructive confrontation and is dangerous, especially coming from a majority white audience…”
